Islamic Funeral Ritual
"Giving Ghusl,
Kafan, Hunoot, Namaz,
and burial to every
Muslim dead body is
wajib on the
guardian. If
Guardian will not do
it, or fails to
delegate, or if
there was no
guardian, then these
duties will be
obligatory upon all
equally (in the
community). This is
Wajib-e-Kifaee,
which means, if some
people undertake to
fulfil the
obligation, others
will be relieved of
their
responsibility. If
no one undertakes to
do it, all will be
held equally
accountable" (1).
